Coexistence of diversity and theoretical deficits among architects who are practitioners represent a serious problem for many theoreticians of architecture. On the occasion of this year’s architectural theoretical symposium in Stuttgart it has been shown that granulation of architectural scene, which is in accordance with the situation in the market, is opposed by a kind of new universalism and encyclopaedism, and even independence of theory. Boris Podrecca attempts to relativise this mainstream in his contribution to the symposium.
